How Can a Facelift Refine My Appearance?

Slimming Double Chins
Tightening the Neck and Face
Restoring Facial Definition
Deciding Between Facelift Procedures
Our facial plastic surgeon will discuss your options during a consultation in our Weston or Boston plastic surgery office. Until then, we'll explain the basic differences between our facelift techniques, so that you have an idea of the possibilities.

Traditional Facelifts
Traditional facelifts address the lower two-thirds of the face. They may also be combined with other procedures, like neck lifts. A traditional facelift can create more impressive results than a mini facelift or other subtler procedures.
While they do provide stunning results, traditional facelifts also require a longer recovery time than mini facelifts or other lifts. You will be placed under general anesthesia during a traditional facelift, so you will also need someone to bring you to and from your appointment.

Midface Lifts and Lower Face Lifts
Dr. Lee also offers targeted lifts that address specific areas of the face. These procedures can mean a shorter recovery time compared to a traditional facelift.
The midface lift targets the area from the eyes to the upper mouth, helping address crows' feet and making eyes appear less sunken. A lower facelift addresses hanging jowls and sagging below the mouth, restoring definition to the jawline.
How Long Does It Take to Recover From a Facelift?

Patients will heal from their procedures over four to six weeks, but it can take up to six months for your final results to become apparent. You can expect swelling, bruising, and redness as you recover. Though this is typical, if you have any concerns, you are always welcome to contact Dr. Lee.
We typically have patients return to our office within a couple of days for a checkup with Dr. Lee, so he can make sure you are healing properly. As the second week ends, patients can usually return to less intensive job duties and activities. After about a month, you should be able to resume your normal activities.
If you're not ready for surgery or you want a procedure with minimal to no downtime, we may recommend injectables. BOTOX Cosmetic can address fine lines on different areas of the face, and dermal fillers like Restylane® and Sculptra® Aesthetic can combat concerns like aging and sagging skin by adding volume.
